The 30th of September is Elek Benedek’s birthday, so we celebrated The Day of the Folktale (Népmese Napja) again.
With the title of Mese, mese, móka [Tale, Tale, Fun] we challenged the creativity and talent of teams consisting of 5 students from grades 2, 3 or 4. A total of seven teams had participated on the event from the 3rd and 4th grades of the Nagy Imre and Petőfi Sándor Public Schools. The auditorium of the library was filled by joyful groups of kids, however, beside the children the event also had a public consisting of parents and families, so we hosted a total of 123 guests. The teams presented their choice of comic folktale one by one. The decision of the three wits (the jury) was that all of the teams deserve a reward for their work. The teams having the best presentation, dramatization, bringing the most creative costume, performing the most beautiful Hungarian speech, having the best humor and the best introduction were awarded with books. The afternoon spent in the realm of tales ended with joint singing and the awarding of the teams.
